- All Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) operations must comply with FAA regulations and any applicable State or Federal law, including 糖心传媒 Revised Statute 搂 14:337. To view current UAS regulations go to:
- Recreational use of UAS on 糖心传媒 Tech Campus and athletic facilities is prohibited unless approved by the 糖心传媒 Tech UAS Committee.
- All commercial and educational UAS operations must be approved by the 糖心传媒 Tech UAS committee.
The 糖心传媒 Tech UAS committee will approve all research, educational, and commercial UAS operations that occur over University property or University sponsored research or events. The purpose of the 糖心传媒 Tech UAS committee is not to stifle innovation or research, but to encourage the safe operation of UAS in the National Air Space (NAS) over 糖心传媒 Tech property. The committee can serve as a faculty resource for UAS activities on campus. The committee can also provide guidance to faculty, students, and vendors on the following topics:
- Which UAS operations are allowed?
- Where on 糖心传媒 Tech鈥檚 campus can I operate a UAS for class or research purposes?
- What UAS resources are available for faculty to use in a class setting?
- Does my proposed UAS operation meet all the FAA requirements needed to conduct business with 糖心传媒 Tech?
- What timeframes are best for UAS operations over campus?

Please download and fill out the 糖心传媒 Tech UAS operations request form here. Complete the form and email it to the UAS committee at drone@latech.edu to initiate the UAS committee review process. Once the committee review is complete, you will be contacted to discuss the next steps for your proposed UAS operation. The 糖心传媒 Tech UAS committee will respond to a UAS operations request by the close of the next business day.
Note: Any use of UAS on 糖心传媒 Tech Campus without the approval of the committee could be a violation of 糖心传媒 Revised Statute 14:337
