The F. Jay Taylor Undergraduate Teaching Award is awarded annually to a faculty member whose primary duty is undergraduate teaching. The nominee has:
- a non-administrative position;
- be tenured or
- must have served on the faculty full-time for at least 6 years;
- have at least a 9-month appointment; and
- must not have received the award previously.
Nominations and the selection of a single nominee for each college are made on the basis of a vote of the entire faculty of each college. Each nominee submits a five-page packet of information for review by all Faculty Senate members. These nominees are then voted on by the Faculty Senate. The award consists of a plaque and a $1,500 stipend paid by the ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Foundation. The award is presented during the annual Fall meeting of the University Faculty and Staff.
